Our work is on show at The Hague City Hall

Since 15 September, the exhibition Beyond the Surface has been on show in the Atrium of The Hague City Hall. Twenty photographs about innovation at sea, curated by Bluespring. Three of them are ours, made for Oceans of Energy.

What is on the wall

Our three photographs come from the offshore work for Oceans of Energy, the Dutch company that builds floating solar farms at sea. They are shown under the titles the curators gave them: "The journey continues" and "The future of solar energy floats at sea". The third one shows the solar farm straight from above.

These are not studio images. They were made during missions at sea, from the vessel and with the drone, among the crew at work.

The opening

The opening was on 16 September. What stands out is how different your own work feels at full size, on a panel, with people standing in front of it for a moment. On a phone a photo scrolls past. Here it stays.

Why this kind of work matters

Most of what happens at sea, nobody sees. No audience, no cameras, only crew and water. Film and photography bring that to the surface: they make technology visible to people who never get there. That is why we make this work, and why it now hangs in a public building instead of only on a company page.

Where to see it
